The soprano Ana Carolina Diz has been performing in opera houses and concert halls for more than two decades. Her vast and versatile repertoire spans both lyric soprano and spinto roles, including concert repertoire, chamber music, 20th-century works, zarzuela, operetta, and academic tango with Camerata Tango. She also frequently appears in numerous private concerts as well as in radio and television programs.

Education and Academic Career

Ana Carolina Diz initially studied singing and piano, graduating as a Music Teacher and Singing Teacher from the Academy of Music Arts in Buenos Aires.

Driven by her commitment to lifelong learning, she obtained an international scholarship from the Slovak government to pursue advanced studies. She subsequently earned a Magister artium (Mag. art.) degree with honors in Singing from the Banská Bystrica Music University. Following this achievement, the Slovak government granted her a second scholarship for Ph.D. studies in Musicology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Bratislava.

She has attended masterclasses with such prestigious artists as Vlasta Hudecová, Marcelo Álvarez, Peter Dvorský, Prof. Eva Blahová, and Prof. Gabriele Lechner, among others.

Repertoire and Roles

The soprano has performed leading roles including:

  • II Wood-sprite (DvoÅ™ák's Rusalka)

  • Mrs. Nolan (Menotti's The Medium)

  • Nedda (I Pagliacci)

  • Giulietta (I Capuletti e i Montecchi)

  • Lucia (Martín Palmeri's Mateo)

Her repertoire also includes Mozartian roles such as Contessa, Arminda, Bastienne, and Donna Elvira, as well as Verdi roles like Maria Grimaldi (Simon Boccanegra) and Elisabetta (Don Carlo). She has also performed Tatyana (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), among others.
